The Wealth Management Marketing Team at BMO wanted to create a series of videos to explain their offerings and show how they can be used in real-life situations.
Cubicle Ninjas’ creative worked to develop, script, storyboard, and edit beautiful and engaging animated videos that showed BMO’s wealth management products in action, following along a series of custom designed characters using BMO products to better their lives, their family finances, and their businesses.
Sally is shown at home. From the left, her parents start walking in, moving towards Sally.
…in a check…
Her parents settle on screen. From behind her back, the mom extends an envelope. The envelope pops in animation to stress its importance. Sally reaches out and takes it.
…to use as she sees fit.
Sally turns around and drops her inheritance into her piggy bank. The piggy bank shakes to show that it has received the envelope.
Jane’s an impulsive spender…
The expressions on each character’s face turns to show their contentment in Sally saving her money. Sally jumps up into the air with her hands raised.
…and isn’t as responsible with her money as Sally should be.
The parents continue to walk across the orange screen on the continuous horizon line. Introduced is the professional trustee who the parents will give Jane’s inheritance to. He animates as he types on his computer as his head slightly sways back and forth.
…so her parents left Jane her inheritance in a trust administered by a professional trustee.
The trustee stands up, reaches out to greet the parents. From behind her back, the mom extends an envelope. The trustee reaches his hand out and takes the envelope. The envelope pops in animation to stress the exchange.
Happy that their children (both responsible and impulsive spenders)…

New scene slides in left and a man walks across the blue fill entering a room.
Your new employer…
New text rotates in from the right on the blue bar as the old text rotates out to the left. New environment is fully revealed of the main character with his new employer. The new employer has a new 401(k) piggy bank.
…might let you roll your old plan…
The employer sets the new piggy bank down on the desk. The main character picks up his bank and shakes it, dumping out coins into the new bank. It grows a bit with each coin that enters the bank.
…into your new one.
As the new piggy bank accepts coins, it continues to grow larger. Elements slide left off screen as new elements slide in from the right side of the frame.
New text rotates in from the right on the blue bar as the old text rotates out to the left. New scene settles of piggy bank in a trophy case. The lid drops down from the top of the frame.
