Expertise: User Experience / Interface Design
1. What is your biggest career goal?
Creating products that have a positive impact on people’s lives. I think it’s so easy to get caught up in client feedback that you often forget who you’re really designing for – the audience. I always try to make it a goal to design with the end-user in mind, and what would leave them with the best experience possible.
2. Do you have any tips for designers who are about to enter the industry?
Intern. Intern. Intern. Get as much experience as possible in before committing to one area of design. My first internship was at a packaging design firm and, even though one of my designs ended up on store shelves, I came to the conclusion that packaging wasn’t an area of design that I would like to focus on for a daily job.
3. What’s the funniest video you’ve seen on the internet lately?
Two words. Corgi. Flop.
4. Your most valuable possession…
Even though I don’t use it as much as I’d like, I’d have to say my Kindle. Having all of your books in one place and being able to kick back and read after a long day is tops.
5. Best show on television is…
I have to thank everyone in the office for getting me hooked on Game of Thrones.
6. Have a ninja rule to share with us?
Ninja Rule #1337 – Much like The Goonies, ninjas never say die.
